Retimbrar is a Porto music collective founded in 2008 by Andrés “Pancho” Tarabbia to revitalise Portuguese traditional music, bringing together percussion, Portuguese string instruments, winds and voices in a style they call “TugaBeat”.
The group has performed in a wide range of settings, from public spaces and concert venues to national and international festivals, including Jazz Sous Les Pommiers (France), FMM Sines, Maré de Agosto (Azores), Lisboa Mistura, Street Artists Festival (Serbia), Expo 2020 (Dubai) and the opening of WOMEX 2021.
In 2025 they were chosen to represent Portugal at Folk Alliance International in Montréal, as part of the “Country Focus” programme.
